Djourou: 6 – I was disappointed with some of the decisions he took out there, such as leaving his spot early to anticipate the ball early in the first half. He’s fourth choice back there and there’s a reason why.
Gibbs: 8 – I hope his injury is just a knock and nothing serious because not only he was Clichy-like when surging forward but did well in his defensive duties as well. He dealt with Lennon beautifully in one-on-ones. Phenomenal.
Eboue: 6 – As equally disappointing as Johan. I feel he could have done more out there Emmanuel, especially in the defensive department.
Wilshere: 8,5 – Will steal the headlines this morning young Jack. He was simply a never-tired machine at White Hart Lane, fighting for the ball, standing up after getting kicked three times in two minutes, creating for his team mates … Wow, just wow.
Denilson: 8 – Back with a bang. Fair enough, he may be turned by the player he is marking and not stay with him because he’s slow(Lansbury’s yellow) but we all know about his weaknesses. But, together with Wilshere he ran the show in midfield, brilliant in breaking the Spurs moves and very calm and collected on the ball.
Lansbury: 6 – Started well, scored a brilliant goal after a super run but faded away in the second half.
Rosicky: 6,5 – Worked very hard as he clearly wanted to make an impact to forget last Saturday’s penalty but I was very disappointed with the way he didn’t challenge Kyle Naughton who went on to pass to Robbie Keane for the goal.
Nasri: 8 – Had a frustrating start but improved as the game progressed. In the second half he was simply majestic, keeping his cool to score both penalties. I don’t know why, but I always find myself asking why Samir almost always does well only in the second half.
Vela: 5,5 – Too isolated. We all wanted Carlos to finally start a game but that’s not how we wanted it to happen. Was full of runs, first touch was very good and linked well with the midfield but Carlos – just like Eduardo after all – cannot play with no support whatsoever. In a way that is why I always say his position is on the left in midfield and not as a centre forward.
(Subs) Arshavin: 7,5 – His first touches after coming on as a substitute were shocking, not sure it was the right place for such tricks. But he stepped it up a gear as the game went on and scored a brilliant goal.
Chamakh: 6,5 – Did look a little bit tired out there Marouane but his strength and determination were again top class.
Clichy: No Vote – Not enough to rate.
