Malaysian hacked into US Fed: prosecutors
AFP

NEW YORK (AFP) - – A sophisticated Malaysian cyber bandit hacked into the US Federal Reserve's computers and also stole nearly half a million credit and debit card numbers, US prosecutors in New York said.

Lin Mun Poo, a Malaysian resident and citizen, was arrested on October 21 soon after entering the United States and was indicted by grand jury Thursday, the US attorney's office in Brooklyn said.

He allegedly hacked into the Cleveland, Ohio branch of the Fed, the US central bank, and in separate attacks also stole more than 400,000 card numbers, as well as breaching the defenses of numerous other systems.

Poo, who is being held in pre-trial detention, "made a career of compromising computer servers belonging to financial institutions, defense contractors, and major corporations, among others, and selling or trading the information," the US attorney's office said.

The US Secret Service arrested the 32-year-old a few hours after he flew to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

"Secret Service agents seized his heavily encrypted laptop computer, which contained a massive quantity of financial account data and personal identifying information that he had allegedly obtained by hacking," the prosecutor's office said.

Brian Parr, the head of the Secret Service's New York office, said cyber crimes "not only affect our nation's financial infrastructure, but are also an ongoing threat to our national security."

Among the other alleged hacking by Poo, the Secret Service said he entered a Pentagon contractor's system "potentially compromising highly sensitive military logistics information."

Earlier this week, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates warned that cyber attacks pose a "huge" threat.

89 pos kawalan sempadan PGA diserah kepada ATM

RANTAU PANJANG 15 Nov.

Mat Salleh mewakili Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), manakala ATM diwakili Panglima Dua Divisyen, Mejar Jeneral Datuk Mohd.

Turut hadir Ketua Polis Kelantan, Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi; Panglima 2 Briged, Brigedier Jeneral Datuk Zulkifli Mansor dan Panglima 8 Briged, Brigedier Jeneral Abdul Rahim Abdul Mutalib.

yg aku takut kan, ehem2 tuu yg bertambah nantiii.... masyallah, tak baik aku berfikiran mcm niii...
ehem2 apa tu DF?

erkkk, aku pun x paham maksud DF...

hang takut undi pos mencanak naik ka Bro cam isu yg kat paper 2, 3 ari tu..

Makmal latih polis banteras judi
Oleh Wan Faizal Ismayatim
wfaizal@bharian.com.my

Kursus lengkapkan pengetahuan, mantap prosedur siasatan pegawai PDRM

“Seperti kata ‘to catch a thief, need to be a thief’ (bagi menangkap penjenayah, polis perlu berfikir seperti penjenayah) dan untuk menguatkuasakan undang-undang, PDRM setiap tahun mengadakan kursus pakar judi bagi melengkapkan pengetahuan di kalangan pegawai PDRM.

Pilot confirmed killed in Alaska F-22 fighter crash
By Yereth Rosen

ANCHORAGE (Reuters) - The Air Force confirmed on Friday that the pilot of an F-22 fighter jet that crashed in Alaska earlier this week during a nighttime training mission perished in the accident.

Air Force officials initially had held out hope that the pilot of the Lockheed Martin twin-engine fighter equipped with stealth technology might have ejected and survived Tuesday night's crash.

"Based on evidence recovered from the crash site, and after two days of extensive aerial and ground search efforts, we know that Captain Jeffrey Haney did not eject from the aircraft prior to impact," Colonel Jack McMullen, commander of the Air Force 3rd Wing, said in a statement.

Search teams at the wreckage site, about 100 miles (160 km) north of Anchorage, found part of Haney's ejection seat and several items the pilot wore during the flight, McMullen said.

At a news conference, McMullen said the the crash left a hole in the earth and that most of what remains of the aircraft is below ground level. An aerial photo of the crash site showed a round crater in the forest, surrounded by blackened trees.

Radar contact with Haney's aircraft was lost as the jet and another plane were returning to their home base at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The wreckage was spotted the next morning by an Alaska National Guard helicopter crew.

Radar contact with Haney's aircraft was lost as the jet and another plane were returning to their home base at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The wreckage was spotted the next morning by an Alaska National Guard helicopter crew.

Kadet akademi Tentera Diraja Sandhurst Terima Elaun Masa Cuti

- BERNAMA

Spying from Space: US launches world's largest satellite
November 23, 2010 - 4:52PM

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The United States has launched the largest satellite ever to orbit earth; while its exact purpose is secret, it’s not going to be monitoring the weather.
Its mission will be to gather intelligence for the US National Reconnaissance Office.
The satellite, dubbed NROL-32, was sent into orbit by a Delta 4 Heavy rocket — the largest unmanned rocket with the most powerful liquid-fueled booster. US National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Director Bruce Carlson said the NROL-32 would be “the largest satellite in the world”.
All this superlative hugeness isn’t likely just a result of Americans’ obsession with size; in fact, the NRO launches almost as many small vehicles into space as it does large ones. More to the point, however, NROL-32 has a very important job: replacing a slew of Cold War-era satellites currently in orbit past their expiration dates.
Carlson gave an address last month in which he stated that the agency had adopted a new charter and “a remarkably aggressive launch campaign” to go along with it.
Referencing the then-upcoming NROL-32 launch and related launches, Carlson said, “This is the most aggressive launch campaign that the National Reconnaissance Office has had in 20 yea ... These [satellites] are very important, because they all go to update a constellation which is aging rapidly. We bought most of our satellites for three, five, or eight years, and we’re keeping them on orbit for ten, twelve, and up to twenty years.”
Carlson also said then that those aging satellites “designed to essentially operate during the era of the Soviet Uni ... are today doing tactical intelligence collection that leads us to actionable intelligence on bad guys every day. Every day.”
In a September 13 address, Carlson told an audience that this Delta 4 Heavy rocket would launch "with the largest satellite in the world on it", according to Space.com.

PTD baru wajib ikuti latihan Askar Wataniah
2010/11/24
