Arsenal have announced that they have agreed a deal in principle to sell club captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona.

Fabregas: Will complete a move to Barca once he has agreed terms and passed a medical

The
World Cup-winning midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to
Camp Nou for some time and has admitted on numerous occasions that he
would welcome a return to his Catalan roots.

It appears as though he has finally got his wish, with Arsenal having buckled in their resistance to a deal.

The Gunners have stood firm during past transfer windows, making it clear to Barca that they were unwilling to do business.

They have, however, accepted that Fabregas wants out and that they need to cash-in while they can still demand a sizeable fee.

A deal with Barca is subject to the completion of formal legal agreements and registration processes.

Fabregas,
who left Barca's academy to join Arsenal in 2003, must also agree
personal terms and pass a medical before a transfer can be pushed
through.

Arsenal, though, are resigned to the fact that their skipper is set to end his eight-year association with the club.

He will leave having made 303 appearances for the North London giants, scoring 57 goals in all competitions.

Arsenal
manager Arsene Wenger told his club's official website: "We have been
clear that we didn't want Cesc to leave and that remains the case.

"However, we understand Cesc's desire to move to his home town club and have now accepted an offer from Barcelona.

"We thank Cesc for his contribution at Arsenal and wish him future success."

thank you Cecs, hope you will do well in Spain!

Miyaichi granted work permit to play for Club

Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Ryo Miyaichi has been granted the work permit he requires to play first-team football for the Club this season.

The
18-year-old arrived in January and spent last season on loan at Dutch
club Feyenoord in order to help his adjustment to European football,
while awaiting the clearance needed to represent Arsenal in the UK.

An
FA panel met on Tuesday at Wembley Stadium to decide the case and heard
from Arsène Wenger, who was in attendance, before granting the work
permit on the grounds that Ryo is an ‘exceptional talent’. Supporting
testimonials were also sent by the Japan Football Association, which
significantly helped the process.

Miyaichi has impressed greatly
during pre-season and featured in all matches played outside the UK, but
now he has been authorised a work permit which means that he is free to
play for Arsenal in the UK.

Upon hearing the news, Arsène Wenger
said: “We are absolutely delighted that Ryo has been granted a work
permit. This is almost like a new signing for us, as we weren’t
completely sure we would be given the authorisation. Ryo has worked
extremely hard in pre-season and performed very well during the matches
in Asia, Germany and Portugal.

Wenger continued: “Ryo has
natural technical ability. He has good balance and phenomenal pace, and
his passing and crossing is consistently of a high quality. He is a very
exciting player. He had a successful time with Feyenoord in the
Netherlands last season, who gave him the opportunity to play regularly,
and we’re looking forward to his contribution this coming season with
Arsenal.”

Miyaichi will be eligible to play for the first team as soon as the formalities of the paperwork are completed.

18 year-old player.... mengapa arsenal suka beli player muda2 macam gini ye.....
anya rasa arsenal perlukan players yang senior sket.... players yang
muda macam nih akan opt untuk tinggalkan kelab bila ada tawaran yang
lebih baik....tambahan pulak bila ada salary cap macam nih....it would
look good in their resume though...good for career
advancement....

The problem with Arsenal is.... the are not a footbal club, they are business entity that sells football.

Beli
player masa muda pada harga murah.... train dan market them to enhance
their value then sell with higher price for profit. Just look at
Febregas and Nasri.

So penyokiong Arsenal please take note that

that!! Other club improves - Man City and Spurs to name a few, but

(€94m, US$132m)!!

kene tgk jugak yg arsenal mmg ada sikit financial tight bila dah pindah stadium baru,
for me trophy less tu perkara biasa, cuma ada peminat2 plastik ni yg bising.

Cecs maybe tired pasal 6 years without trophy, and at the same time we know how spaniard will try to unsettle their target.
the same thing we can see from Backhem, Nisterooy and even Ronaldo, started with their media and plee of attention from fellow member.

as for nasri, he is one of the modern mercenaries + he has one of the renowned money driven agent in football.
before coming to arsenal kat ohaime pun banyak jugak cerita, waktu tu Euro, sanggup stall deal sampai lepas EURO kata nak konsentrate walhal orang tau if dia perform kat EURO dia bleh tarik harga lagi tinggi dengan Arsenal.

Kalo dia btol mau trophy dia akan pergi ke MU, tp dia nak £185000 per week dia akan pergi ke Man Citeh!

yelah...alan hansen did imply that a club cannot win championship with boys as players..... and it's true that they lost to aston villa tapi goal yang 1 tuh yang buat beckham naik.....neville brothers, nicky butt, giggs followed suit..... but at the time there were also senior players macam eric cantona kan....to show the rope so to speak...

For Sale! For Sale!

Man United plans Singapore share float
LONDON: Manchester United's American owners are planning to dilute their stake in the Premier League champions with a partial stock market flotation in Singapore, sources familiar with the plans said Tuesday.

The Glazer family has chosen the Singapore stock exchange for an initial public offering because Asia is now central to United's growth away from the football pitch, the sources told The Associated Press. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the English club's financial plans publicly.

When asked for a response, United Chief executive David Gill declined to comment.

Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, which has been linked with the listing, said it had been told not to comment on the matter.

Manchester United has been valued at $1.9 billion by Forbes magazine, which has ranked it as football's most valuable team for the last seven years.

The application for a listing could take until the end of the year to be approved by the Singapore Exchange, the people familiar with the situation said.

The IPO could raise $1 billion by making between 25 and 30 percent of United available, the Financial Times reported online.

While the Florida-based Glazer family plans to remain in control of United, a partial flotation would reduce the club's debt, which exceeds 500 million pounds ($817 million).

The club was bought by the Glazers for 790 million pounds ($1.4 billion) million pounds in 2005 when they de-listed the club from the London Stock Exchange.

"Obviously the leverage has been bothering the Glazers so they want to use whatever cash they get in to get a return for themselves on capital, to reduce leverage and to give Manchester United cash to go out and buy players," said Stephen Schechter, chairman of London-based investment bank Schechter Co., which has helped English clubs raise money.

Schechter believes the Glazers have chosen the Singapore Exchange because of the "sizzle factor" associated with United in Asia where more than half of the club's estimated 333 million fans are based.

"They will pay a higher price to say they own a piece of Manchester United," Schechter said in a telephone interview.

There is also less disclosure of information required in Singapore compared with London.

"Clearly the U.K. market would be receptive to Manchester United, but the listing requirements would require substantive disclosure, as would New York," Schechter said.

Despite the Glazers consistently maintaining that the club is not for sale, United director Michael Edelson appeared to contradict them in December when he told the AP: "It is inevitable that at some time they will sell."

The Glazers, who also own the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have been unpopular with sections of the United fan base due to the extent of the club's debt, which did not exist before the leveraged buyout.

Protests mounted during throughout 2010 when the club's financial predicament was revealed in a bond prospectus sent to investors. That seven-year bond issue raised 504 million pounds to replace long-term financing and reduce debts to hedge funds.

But the protests dissipated last season as the team went on to win a record 19th English title, with the green and gold scarves adopted by disaffected fans largely disappearing from matches.

The Glazers have in the past rebuffed a 1.5 billion-pound offer from an unnamed Qatari group. - AP

bukan fasal ni ka?

"Obviously the leverage has been bothering the Glazers so they want to use whatever cash they get in to get a return for themselves on capital, to reduce leverage and to give Manchester United cash to go out and buy players," said Stephen Schechter, chairman of London-based investment bank Schechter Co., which has helped English clubs raise money.

especially when..

The Glazers, who also own the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have been unpopular with sections of the United fan base due to the extent of the club's debt, which did not exist before the leveraged buyout.
