AIRCRAFT FOR EXPORT

The aircraft made two demonstration flights on Wednesday.

It returned to Halim Perdanakusuma airport, east of Jakarta, after the first flight where some people got off because it was the time for Muslim prayers and then got left behind, according to Sunaryo. Others who had not planned to fly got on board.

JAKARTA (Reuters) - A rescue team arrived at the wreckage site of a Russian plane that crashed on an Indonesian mountain with up to 50 people on board and has not found any survivors so far, an official said on Thursday.

"We haven't found survivors," Gagah Prakoso, spokesman of the search and rescue team, told Indonesia's Metro TV.

Mimpi ngeri wei nak buat misi rescue dengan slope macam tuh... tak semua orang larat buat kecuali yang biasa buat pendakian... ketinggian gunung pun sekitar 2,000 meter... kerja berat untuk logisitik, tak boleh nak gunakan sebarang jentera sekitar kawasan insiden.. kena buat laluan rintis dari darat sebab belum tentu pesawat jatuh di kawasan laluan pendakian... cerun pun tak stabil, kawasan pergunungan sering hujan, kemungkinan tanah runtuh. Cuaca malam mesti terlalu sejuk, nampaknya berhari-hari ler usaha menyelamat dan siasatan.

Kes Ba Kelalan lg payah, jenuh nak cari Nuri tu...

Quote :
Cijeruk is in a mountainous area 6,500 feet (2,000 metres) above sea level, 50 miles (80 kilometres) southeast of Jakarta. Indonesian officials have said the Sukhoi descended to about 6,000 feet shortly before it vanished.

Agensi berkaitan cepat membuat statment, kawasan nahas dilitupi awan tebal... tapi ada juga pandangan umum terutama oleh pilot banyak gangguan lain penerbangan..

Flying in Indonesia is like hell, pilot
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Sat, 05/12/2012 4:28 PM

A senior pilot with Garuda Indonesia, Jeffrey Adrian, said some foreign pilots complained saying that flying in Indonesia was “like hell”.

“That’s because they often face communication breakdowns with the air traffic controller due to commercial radio and telecommunication operator signals that often penetrate into the cockpit,” Jeffrey said Saturday as quoted by tempo.co.

Oftentimes he heard dangdut music, jazz and communication between two people via phone in the plane, he said.

He said he once even heard a phone sex conversation penetrating the communication system in the cockpit.

That was because there were many transmitters that “inappropriately” expanded the network.

“They are supposed to add transmitter towers, not only strengthen their signals,” Jeffrey said. (iwa)

France 'regrets' Britain's warplane choice
AFP – Fri, May 11, 2012

France said Friday it regretted Britain's decision to reverse its choice of fighter jets for future aircraft carriers, with the result that French warplanes will no longer be able to use the ships. "This choice threatens to restrict our naval aviation cooperation, which we regret," foreign ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said, referring to Britain's opting for a jump-jet model of the US-built F-35 instead of the conventional takeoff and landing version to save money on equipment.
"We would like to believe that this decision, which the British government says is based on budgetary reasons, does not jeopardise our cooperation" in this field, he told a regular press conference at the foreign ministry.

Britain confirmed Thursday it had changed its mind over which model of the F-35 to purchase for its planned new carriers because of the extra cost of fitting launching catapults and arrester gear to the ships. Such equipment is required for France's Rafale warplanes, which were to have shared use of the two carriers under a 2010 defence deal between the two countries. It is not needed for the F-35B fighter that Britain has now decided to purchase, unlike the more conventional F-35C.
The change risks being politically damaging to Britain's coalition government and is an awkward start to Britain's relationship with French president-elect Francois Hollande.

rasanya UK memang pilih F-35 jugak tapi CTOL variant. kalau CTOL variant memang Rafale boleh land atas QE2 class. kalau revert back to STOVL variant memang Rafale takdak peluang nak land atas QE2.
