Faizzal Mohd Ali.
–BERNAMA

ada kat sini jugak..
Bomb Threat at Pavillion, KL
I was there at the crime scene. Not from start, half way when the police has started to close the road. And didn't took pictures. Hands full of stuff.
It happened during lunch hour around 12.30 pm. My colleagues said a bomb was placed at the link bridge. Saw lots of people standing near the crime scene and traffic was so bad at that instance. Police had closed the road and tightened the security around the area. Traffic congested from Standard Chartered building in front of Wisma Cosway straight to Prince Court and Bukit Bintang.
I felt like watching CSI now. Scary. My friend said, they found the bomb and had blasted it of. I guess it was a tiny bomb. Lucky there was no people injured.

Trilogy Delivers Audio Communications Capability to the Malaysian Armed Forces
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Mercury ES (all photos : Trilogy)
Trilogy, a world class supplier of voice communications technologies for the defence sector announced today that it has been selected to provide a sophisticated voice communications capability to the Malaysian Armed Forces.
The prime contractor, Pembekal Alaf Baru SDN BHD, has won the contract to integrate existing and new radio assets across multiple sites within the Malaysian territory. It provides a communications system that is able to extend the range and resilience of radio traffic whilst offering the potential for multi-level and cross domain security features.
Mercury ES will allow the extension of radio communications over IP ensuring that neither range nor geography disrupts those communications, banishing any possibility of a black spot. This guarantee of service allows the Malaysian Armed Forces to optimise its network enabled operations. As the various participants are able to freely share and assess information in real time, they are able to capitalise on their situational awareness to increase mission effectiveness.

"We are delighted to have been selected to work with the Malaysian Armed Forces" said Mark Ellis, Business Development Director, Trilogy Communications. He continued, "This further consolidates Trilogy’s position within the global defence and intelligence communities in the region.”
Mercury ES, a COTS product, is already successfully deployed in a number of countries around the world and completed rigorous assessments during the competition phase of the Malaysian Armed Forces contract. Unprecedented in terms of quality, sophistication and speed, Mercury ES makes information sharing and decision making across organisations easier than ever.
Mercury ES operates on LANs/WANs over terrestrial or satellite-based IP networks. Users can participate in multiple communications simultaneously - including direct, conference and monitor-only. In addition, radios, telephones and other technologies can be linked to the system to provide users with a unified communications control panel.
As a key element of the contract Trilogy will provide training and support of the communications system. Trilogy is looking forward to working closely with its partner in Malaysia, PAB, on the implementation of this project, it’s through life support and future sales of mission critical Mercury ES systems to other military and governmental organisations in Malaysia.

Re: MPSA @ News
HANOI, Aug 4, 2011 (AFP) - Vietnam will have a submarine fleet within six years, the defence minister reportedly confirmed on Thursday, in what analysts say is intended as a deterrent to China's increasing assertiveness at sea.
Russian media reported in December 2009 that Vietnam had agreed to buy half a dozen diesel-electric submarines for about $2 billion.
“In the coming five to six years, we will have a submarine brigade with six Kilo 636-Class subs,” Defence Minister Phung Quang Thanh was quoted as saying by the state-controlled Tuoi Tre newspaper.
Thanh said the fleet was “definitely not meant as a menace to regional nations,” according to the report.
“Buying submarines, missiles, fighter jets and other equipment is for self-defence,” he was quoted as saying.
Ian Storey, a regional security analyst at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) in Singapore, said the submarine deal has been driven by events in the South China Sea, where China and Vietnam have a longstanding territorial spat over the Paracel and Spratly archipelagos.
Tensions rose after Vietnam in May accused Chinese marine surveillance vessels of cutting the exploration cables of an oil survey ship inside the country's exclusive economic zone.
“These purchases are designed to deter the Chinese from encroaching on Vietnamese sovereignty,” Storey told AFP.
He said the country already operates two midget submarines bought years ago from North Korea.
In the newspaper report, Thanh did not specify how Vietnam was paying for its naval upgrade.
“It depends on our economic ability. Vietnam has yet to produce modern weapons and military equipment, which are costly to import,” he said.
Analysts say the country's economy is in turmoil with galloping inflation, large trade and budget deficits, inefficient state spending, and other woes.
Much of Vietnam's military hardware is antiquated but this week it received the first of three new coastal patrol planes for the marine police, announced the manufacturer, Madrid-based Airbus Military.
Russian media reported last year that Vietnam ordered 12 Sukhoi Su-30MK2 warplanes in a deal worth about $1 billion.
Other nations in the region have accused China in recent months of becoming more aggressive in enforcing its claims to parts of the South China Sea.
The Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan also have overlapping claims to all or parts of the waters, which are potentially rich in oil and gas deposits and straddle vital commercial shipping lanes.
